The Ask
The ask was to design a co-working space stacking shipping containers which serves as a commercial space while also housing a restaurant. The architecture should stand out and provide a lively space to the workers for increased productivity.
The Result
Inspired by Wada Architecture and inclusivity, the Container Studio not only creates an architectural impact, but also serves its purpose of providing a better and cohesive work environment, forcing the public to explore the space and enjoy the present. A way to connect to nature and build meaningful human connections through Architecture and intentional design.
The Design
The design focuses on creating ventilation of air and light, incorporating traditional approach to contemporary design. The Container size used is 8'x8.5'x40' which are cut as per required and stacked, creating 2-storeyed structures with courtyards acting as breathing spaces. Additionally, the courtyards create public, semi-public and private areas, with studio and office spaces overlooking them, allowing visual connectivity without hindering the privacy. The vibrant color scheme creates a playful environment.
